Business networks and Wi-Fi for the Northern Beaches & North Shore.
We design, deploy and run business networks for 5 to 30-staff businesses across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore. Wi-Fi that holds up against concrete and machinery, switching and firewalls sized for how your team works, VLAN segregation, secure remote access and proper monitoring. Not the cheapest box from Officeworks.

Most network problems aren’t unfixable. They’re un-diagnosed.
Most of what we replace on first engagement was reasonable in 2018 and isn’t reasonable now. The fix is usually diagnosis, not more hardware.
Wi-Fi dropouts
Usually concrete, metal racks or another tenant’s access points interfering. Solved with a site survey, not more APs.
Slow ‘internet’
Frequently the office Wi-Fi or a saturated switch port, not the line itself.
Flat-network security gaps
Printers, EFTPOS, cameras and IoT visible to every staff laptop. Contained with segmentation.
Painful remote access
Either too open (a port forward to RDP) or a VPN that drops every hour. Replaced with zero-trust per-app access.
Hands-on network work, done directly.
Site surveys, RF tuning, VLAN design, firewall config and ongoing monitoring. Direct work, not vendor liaison.
Site survey
We walk the floor with the right tools and measure signal before quoting AP counts. The cheapest fix is often fewer APs, placed properly.
Industrial-grade Wi-Fi
UniFi, Meraki or Ruckus, sized to survive concrete walls, machinery interference and second-floor offices.
VLAN segmentation
Production gear, IoT, cameras, EFTPOS and staff devices on their own VLANs, so one compromise can’t reach the rest.
Business firewalls
Proper next-gen firewalls sized for your team, with filtering, intrusion detection and the logs your insurer wants.
Secure remote access
VPN or zero-trust setups that work without being painful, for home staff, contractors and after-hours admins.
Monitoring & alerting
We know about a downed switch or a saturated link before staff do, not after a 9:15am message.
Network problems get solved by someone walking the floor, not an offshore script.
Local and hands-on
Based in Warriewood, onsite across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore for the work that needs someone in the room.
Advice before the sale
Buying something new is not automatically the answer. If keeping what you have is better, we’ll say so.
Built for your size
5 to 30 staff is our sweet spot. We know the constraints, the budgets and the realities.
Quotes that match the invoice
Fixed-fee where we can, transparent T&M where we can’t. Network monitoring is included in every managed retainer.
Onsite across the Northern Beaches & Lower North Shore.
Based in Warriewood. Onsite across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore, with remote support when onsite isn’t needed. We focus on doing this corner of Sydney really well.
Business networks, answered.
How much does business Wi-Fi for a 15-staff office cost?
Most 15-staff single-floor offices land in the $4,000–$8,000 range for a proper UniFi or Meraki refresh, site survey, two to four access points, a switch, a firewall, and structured cabling clean-up. Concrete buildings, multi-floor offices, and industrial precincts go higher because the AP count and the cabling work scale with the building, not the staff count.
My Wi-Fi keeps dropping at the back of the office. Can you fix that?
Almost certainly. The fix usually isn’t more access points, it’s the right access points placed properly. A site survey identifies whether the issue is signal strength (need an AP closer), interference (other Wi-Fi networks on the same channel), or a broken AP. Most small offices we audit have one of those three; we tell you which it is and what it costs to fix.
Do we need a business firewall, or is the modem from the ISP enough?
Honest answer: the ISP modem is fine for a 5-staff office with no compliance pressure. For 10+ staff, businesses with cyber-insurance, or any business with EFTPOS, IP cameras, or IoT devices, a proper business firewall is the right call. The cost difference is small ($800–$2,000 once-off plus modest licensing) and it covers MFA on the network, intrusion detection, geo-blocking, and the logs your insurer asks for at renewal.
How does VLAN segmentation help with security?
It contains the blast radius of an attack. If a staff laptop catches malware, the VLAN setup stops it reaching the EFTPOS terminal, the IP cameras, the printer, or the production network. Without segmentation, every device on the network can talk to every other device, which means one compromise can become every-device compromise. Cyber insurers increasingly ask whether you have segmentation; we put it in place and document it.
Can you set up secure remote access for staff working from home?
Yes. Two patterns work for small business: a proper business VPN (UniFi, Meraki, Fortinet) for full-network access, or zero-trust per-app access (Cloudflare, Tailscale) for selective resource access. Most 5–30-staff businesses are better off on zero-trust per-app, it’s faster to set up, easier to manage, and doesn’t require staff to remember to connect a VPN before they can work.
Do you support businesses outside the Northern Beaches?
Onsite work we keep to the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore, Manly through Chatswood. Remote support and monitoring we run anywhere in Sydney. Network problems benefit from someone in the room, so we don’t take on network projects we can’t be onsite for within an hour.
Is network monitoring included with managed IT support?
Yes, included in every Vaelis managed tier (Foundation, Strategic, Fortified). You get alerts on outages, weekly performance reports, and quarterly tuning sessions. No extra fee for the monitoring tools or the responses to alerts.
